Though I am the first to admit that I’m no natural baker, I like to bake some cake now and then. Since my boyfriend isn’t to keen on cakes, normally I try some of his favorites, least I don’t have to eat it all by myself. A lemon cake normally is a sure winner. Well, not this one. I tried a recipe I deemed failsafe, since it was published by an actual ‘cook’, but nonetheless, it didn’t work out.
The inside was still moist and not baked thoroughly, but besides this, it lacked the typical lemony taste completely.
I did, what I had to do – I took the cake along to a meeting with a friend and shared it generously. 
At least it gave me something to blog about, so r.i.p. unfortunate and slighted cake, may you became tastier in your next life.

Normalerweise würde ich einem missratenen Kuchen keinen eigenen Blogeintrag widmen, aber hey, es ist Vegan Mofo und ich hatte mich wirklich auf den doofen Kuchen gefreut. Wie immer gehts dann schief. Dabei hatte ich extra ein, wie ich dachte, idiotensicheres Rezept von unserer veganen Koryphäe herausgesucht, aber das Ergebnis war zum einen nicht durch und zum anderen eher geschmacksneutral. Naja, shit happens.
Frei nach dem Motto: “Ein missratener Kuchen ist immer noch besser als gar kein Kuchen” haben wir dennoch die Hälfte verputzt, die andere habe ich unauffällig verteilt.
